ARRIVAL AT OCEAN HOUSE

Arrive on Haida Gwaii and settle in at Ocean House upon arrival in Old Massett. Following a warm Xaayda Gwaay.yaay Haida Gwaii welcome, a gourmet dinner awaits with cuisine featuring seasonal, local ingredients. Explore the surrounding area after dinner on a leisurely walk or enjoy unwinding at the spa or in our library.

NORTH ISLAND TOURS

From picturesque North Beach, you will depart on a moderate hike of Taaw Tow Hill where views of beaches and the Alaskan mountain range will take your breath away. Visit the totem pole at Hiellen Village. Following this, we will enjoy sampling some homemade baked goods at a popular local bakery.

Today it's your choice of three unforgettable adventures:

Masset Inlet Adventure

Follow the pathway to the heart of Haida Gwaii, from Masset Inlet to the mouth of the Yaagun Gandll Yakoun River. Watch for remarkable wildlife as we explore the area’s diverse terrain. During your trek, your Haida guide will also share the area’s cultural and historical significance, including the role it played in First Contact.

North Coast Tour

Today we explore the Duu Guusd Heritage Site by boat, watching for whales, bears, and a variety of seabirds. Onshore we will hike along some of the unique coastlines in the world while visiting the sites of ancient Haida villages. Listen to our stories, and experience our culture as we share the knowledge that has been passed on since time immemorial.

Interpretive Haida Fishing Experience

Guests join a Haida boat captain for a day of touring the local marine area learning about the flora and fauna and the importance of the salmon to Haida culture. Catch restrictions/retention limits apply.

MASSET

Today we explore Gaw Masset and Gaw Tlagee Old Massett. An interpretive tour of the area’s totems features several stops at the studios of acclaimed Haida artisans. Finish the day with an authentic Haida dining experience.

DEPARTURE DAY

After a delicious breakfast, it is time to say farewell and make your check-out arrangements. Shuttle to the airport is available for those leaving Haida Gwaii by air today.
